Job Description

Position Summary: Contributes to the overall strategic vision of the IT organization and integrates a broad range of ideas regarding IT architecture. Recognized across the organization for IT architecture expertise and sought as a resource for resolution of unique or complex IT architecture problems. Undertakes multiple and highly complex IT architecture projects involving multiple disciplines and may impact multiple business units. 


  • The candidate will be responsible for our overall architecture platform along with the associated development of supporting applications
  • Under limited supervision, the candidate will be responsible for design, engineering, and development of portions of major projects or entire projects of lesser complexity
  • Drive the architecture for key cross team / cross product development projects via architecture/design documents and developing key code modules
  • Ensure that project teams follow a common set of principles and patters and utilize a standard set of technology frameworks and libraries
  • Provide leadership across the development community to ensure solutions are built in alignment with platform principles and standards
  • Mentor and build world-class engineering teams
  • Contribute to and influence technology direction for the enterprise with a focus on security, robustness, scalability, modularity and SOA
  • Demonstrate thought leadership through presentations, teachings, lessons learned, brown bag sessions and other formal and informal means
  • Candidate will provide design, development, certification, deployment, support functions, performance analysis and problem-solving efforts the platform and other engineering initiatives
  • Responsibilities will also include defining test plan requirements, supporting the execution of platform certifications and related proof of concepts as well as lifecycle management
  • Candidate will lead efforts creating development test environments, including physical and logical setup
  • Strong communications skills are a must to effectively and efficiently provide Tier 3/4 support for Provisioning, Operations, and Sales staff on platform issues
  • Role requires significant interaction and collaboration with other engineering groups, product, planning, operations, IT organizations, vendor development and support groups, as needed
  • Ability to scope all types of engineering initiatives, develop schedules and cost estimates is required

Qualifications required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and minimum 10 years relevant experience
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Excellent documentation/technical writing skills
  • Database design and administration experience with SQL Server
  • Strong OOD, TDD, CI skills
  • Solid experience with software architecture patterns
  • Ability to create distributed frameworks that leverage .NET and TPL
  • Cloud (private and public) architecture and underlying technologies background
  • Solid scripting/development capabilities across various platforms
  • Familiarity and experience in DevOps
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills

Qualifications desired:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field and a minimum of 8 years relevant experience
  • Working knowledge of performance testing tools
  • Knowledge and experience with data architecture patterns
  • Experience administrating and developing Business Intelligence software solutions
  • Certifications in the areas of database, SOA, development tools from premier vendors
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or others
