Job Description

SUMMARY:  A large Houston Energy company is seeking an experienced subject matter expert  with specific expertise in Pulse Secure PSA 7000, Pulse Secure Desktop Client, and global SSL VPN Deployments for a 6 month project with the potential to be extended.


Under broad direction, analyzes data and prepares solution recommendations for an engagement. Combines a general understanding of IT with a specialization in an industry, business function, or service offering. Applies solid business skills and SME methodologies to collect and analyze data. Provides technical subject-matter expert assistance in business studies. Develops and implements specialized solutions to meet client's business needs. 

Job Description: 
• Implements and manages global SSL VPN deployment of Pulse Secure PSA 7000, and Pulse Secure Desktop Connect client. 
• Consults and provides guidance to enterprise business units and owners regarding various aspects of Pulse Secure deployment. 
• Work closely with business units and enterprise firewall teams to address any issues as it relates to the successful deployment of SSL VPN. 
• Lead configuration and implementation of SSL VPN technology, and prepare transition to operations. 
• Represents the team by collaborating with business units to provide guidance, requirements and documentation for SSL VPN information security related matters. 
• Collaborates with behavioral change management team to communicate technical knowledge developed to support teams and impact to the end user as a result of solutions deployed. 
• Provides level 3 support for Pulse Secure endpoint security solutions. 
• Works with project managers, team members, architects, business units and other stakeholders to create agile solutions, identifying continuous improvement opportunities, creating new or improved processes and automation to support step changes in operational efficiencies. 
• Develops and shares best practices with other teams. 


Required Qualifications: 
• A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, IS, or MIS degree or equivalent experience. An additional 3 years of direct work experience can be substituted for degree. 
• A minimum 5 years' related Information Security and Risk Management experience in Chevron or another large company or related infrastructure work experience. 
• A minimum 5 years' experience in IT infrastructure with any or all of the following: Internet proxy, VPN, SIEM, IPS, mobility gateways, advanced malware detection, enterprise threat detection and response systems, encryption technologies, security analytics, wireless intrusion. 

Additional Notes: 
• Traveling- will be traveling to San Ramon once a quarter if needed 
• Work Environment- majority of the team is in Houston and interfacing with the Network and Design team. 
• Working with various business units to help troubleshoot any issues and providing Level 3 support 
• Working with the project management team, stakeholders, and team members daily
