Job Description

SUMMARY:  A large Houston Energy company is seeking an experienced Technical packager to join their team for a 9 month project with a strong possibility to be extended.

REQUIREMENTS:  You will work with developers to build, package & release proprietary software in Windows. Includes integration & working with vendor technology such as Petrel and Intersect. This position is a senior technical position providing thought leadership in proposing and implementing improvements in the build & deployment tools. Provides technical developer support including build configuration changes & troubleshooting, repository management, continuous integration server support, etc. Executes application packaging & IT testing for new releases (pre-commercial & commercial). Applies release management processes to ensure the integrity of the software. Works with teams to plan and support new releases. 

Must Have: 
• Good knowledge of application lifecycle management 
• At least 8+ years of scripting or programming experience 
• Knowledge of MSI technology using AdminStudio, InstallShield or Wise Package Studio 
• Associates degree 
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex concepts to any audience, gather requirements, report updates to management, resolve issues with customers and correspond with vendors 
• Expert knowledge of application installation procedures on all platforms of Windows Workstation, both 32 and 64 bit operating systems. 

Preferred: 
• Programming experience or the ability to write scripts using VBScript, PowerShell, Jscript or other scripting languages and understanding of basic programming concepts 
• Leadership or mentoring experience 
• DevOps environment experience and/or Cloud technology experience. 
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, engineering, math, or geosciences
