Job Description

Summary:

This role is primarily responsible for maintaining the VoIP phone system. System maintenance, software upgrades, documentation, and upkeep of impacted system standards. Fine tuning/improvement of system configuration, and providing recommendations of further system enhancement based on expertise and experience.

This role will also assist in maintaining the networking environment. Maximize network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, and scheduling upgrades. Act as technical escalation point for network-related issues reported to Help Desk team. Some after-hours work as circumstances require. Occasional domestic travel to  field sites for network maintenance/upgrades.

This role requires proficiency in VoIP phone systems, Problem Solving, LAN/WAN Networking Knowledge, Network Design and Implementation, Network Troubleshooting, and Cisco Hardware Configuration. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications:

Required experience -

  • 5+ years Cisco Voice support in an enterprise environment.
  • CCNA level voice/video knowledge with Cisco Call Manager, Unity Connection, IM&Presence.
  • PSTN SIP trunks, PRIs. NAT/ACL configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Strong skillset with managing Cisco network access control, routers, switches, WAPs, and adaptive security appliances.

Preferred experience -

  • Cisco Expressway C&E, Telepresence Management Suite/Conduction, Telepresence Endpoints, E-SRST. Routing and switching knowledge (EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP at a CCNA level). DMVPN.
  • Security strengths and exposures to IDS/IPS.
  • Experience administering network monitoring systems (e.g. PRTG).
  • Working knowledge of VMWare ESXi, network load balancers, and Meraki Wireless.

Education:

CCNA Certification.
