Job Description

Our client who designs, manufactures, and supports environmental compliance software within the air emissions compliance industry is seeking to hire a Senior System Administrator join their team in Pensacola FL. This is a full-time, office-based position.

The ideal candidate will be a knowledgeable, proactive, dependable, self-directed worker who can complete assignments and projects on time with minimal supervision.Hours of work vary from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM  with the occasional need to work after-hours, weekends, and holidays.  Position will require being on call every other week or as necessary.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Network Administration: maintain and manage Cisco ASAs, Cisco switches, VPNs (S2S and end user), complex subnetting, IDS/IPS systems, and endpoint proxies.
  • Microsoft Administration: maintain and manage Active Directory, Exchange Online, Azure AD, Windows servers & PCs, Microsoft SQL, Office 365, and Teams/Skype conferencing.
  • VMware/ESXi Administration: maintain and manage large, multi-site VMware environment, Rubrik VM backup appliances, virtual networking, alarms, certs, and physical hardware (SANs, servers, and switches).
  • Advanced end user support: complete help desk tickets when help desk personnel require help or encounter a problem they are unable to solve.
  • Security & Proactive Maintenance: regularly monitor all systems with the goal of fixing problems before they are problems and recommending upgrades when necessary. Maintain security best practices and end user guidelines. Maintain checklists and records to document all processes and projects.
  • Vendor Maintenance: coordinate and consult with vendors for hardware/software purchases, product services, and support.
    Phone System: maintain Fonality phone system & PolyCom handsets and administer Verizon cell service.
  • Scripting & Automation: maintain and improve automated scripts and add new ones where needed.
  • Website: provide assistance supporting and maintaining our website in coordination with other staff.
Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, skills and abilities preferred:
  • Advanced knowledge of local and wide area networking (LAN/WAN), subnetting, VPNs, DHCP, DNS (internal & external), certificate management, and VOIP.
  • In-depth experience administering Microsoft systems, including Active Directory, Azure AD, O365, Exchange, Windows 10, Windows Server 2008-2019, and desktop applications.
  • Strong background administering VMWare/ESXi and associated hardware. Experience with vSphere CLI, ESXi Shell, PowerCLI and Bash preferred. Experience with Rubrik backup appliances preferred.
  • Intermediate or better scripting/shell skills in PowerShell, Batch, Bash, VBA, Cisco, and VMware products preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL, Office 365, Dynamics SL, corporate level antivirus, and Salesforce preferred.
  • Experience with Kentico web administration platform preferred.
  • Ability to maintain data networks and servers, provide technical support to users, and administer day-to-day operation of networks and servers.
  • Ability to troubleshoot all hardware, software and network issues.
  • Ability to prioritize requests, organize, schedule, and coordinate a variety of activities and projects.
  • Ability to learn new software and hardware, keep current with tech trends, and adapt to changes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form, explain technical concepts in non-technical terms to clients and staff, and read, interpret, and apply technical data processing manuals and related documents.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with coworkers.
  • Willingness to occasionally work flexible / odd hours based on needs.
  • CCNA, A+, Security+ and Net+ certifications are a plus.
  • Needs to be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.

Education, experience:
Requires an associate degree in computer science or related technical field. Education may be substituted with additional applicable work experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Must have at least four years of experience in systems administration.
