Job Description


Our client, a significant international energy asset company seeks to add a Senior Accountant of Corporate Accounting to their corporate accounting and reporting team. This position serves a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely recording of intercompany transactions and assists with the company's external reporting activities.  


  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Experience with intercompany accounting
  • Experience with data processing systems in the accounting and reporting environment
  • Experience in preparing consolidated and stand-alone financial statements
  • Knowledge of SEC interim and annual reporting requirements 


  • Work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of changing variables.
  • Identify areas for possible improvements and proactively address problems within scope of responsibilities.
  • With limited guidance, responsible for working on moderately complex assignments and projects, including but not limited to:
    • Prepare  accounting entries for entities assigned
    • Review intercompany  and third party agreements to ensure compliance
    • Support Company’s Reporting Compliance initiatives by ensuring that accounting transactions are recorded accurately and timely
    • Work with other Accounting groups (AP, Operations Accounting and Financial Reporting) to identify and resolve accounting coding issues
    • Apply Accounts Receivable receipts for intercompany invoices
    • Support international subsidiaries by establishing sustainable process and responding to statutory audit requests
    • Prepare assigned balance sheet reconciliations
    • Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis and investigate issues requiring explanations and interpretation
    • Monitor, participate in and enhance formal processes for internal controls surrounding Intercompany processes to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley Act requirements
    • Coordinate and effectively communicate accounting matters with various departments throughout the organization
    • Additional assignments as assigned by the Intercompany Accounting Manager


  • Education and Certifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required. CPA designation or actively pursuing a CPA license is required for this role.
  • Experience: Four to seven years of applicable experience in accounting roles with extensive experience in intercompany and financial reporting areas
  • Skills:
    • Experience with Oracle, Advanced Global Intercompany System (AGIS) and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM)  is highly preferred
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work with all levels of the organization
    • Effective time management skills and detailed oriented
    • Ability to think critically and independently
    • Organized and able to manage multiple activities and programs timely and with a high degree of accuracy
    • Ability to work effectively on short notice and off hours as required
    • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
