Job Description

The Senior Buyer is responsible for driving continuous improvement in the total cost for acquiring materials and equipment in the Supply Chain Group. This primary roles include managing Procurement and RFx process for operations and Capital Construction Projects and any other duties assigned by the Director of Contracts and Procurement. This role will report directly to the Procurement Manager.


  • Manage and Issuance of Purchase Orders for operations and Capital Construction Projects
  • Manage RFx process and negotiate PO terms, conditions and pricing, including analyzing commercial aspects of supplier proposals
  • Manage Approved Supplier List
  • Serve as a liaison between internal and external parties during negotiation stages
  • Manage purchase order administration post award activities including change order management, invoice issues and claims avoidance
  • Perform Purchase Order Close Out activities


  • 5-8 years of work experience in procurement supporting operations and capital construction projects; 5+ years in oil & gas industry preferred (midstream)
  • Ability to create and execute a procurement process vision, as well as an ability to work within larger organizational objectives
  • Working knowledge of sourcing processes and methodologies
  • Proven success leading cross-division sourcing projects; able to handle multiple priorities with minimal supervision under challenging conditions
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or Business; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Experience with MS Office and Oracle
