Job Description

Dynamic, large, growing international Investment Bank seeks a Senior Accountant to join their corporate accounting team in Houston, Texas.   The ideal candidate should have three plus years of accounting and/or Big 4 Assurance experience, outstanding verbal and written communication skills, strong proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and Excel, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment with strong attention to detail.   
Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:

--Assist the Controller and Assistant Controller with the preparation of the firm’s management reports and the reports to the management committee on a monthly and quarterly basis.

--Assist in presentation preparation for board meetings as directed by the CFO, Controller, and Assistant Controller.

--Responsible for daily cash activities, bank reconciliations and account reconciliations for 12 operating accounts in the US and internationally; serve as primary interface with the banks’ treasury departments.

--Manage and record all accounting matters related to each of the firm’s 12 subsidiaries while obtaining a full understanding of corporate structure to allocate expenses appropriately at a divisional and entity level.

--Perform routine accounting functions including bank reconciliation and accounts receivable preparation, reviewing accounts payable, and performing transactions for monthly close process.  Interface with line management on revenue and cost analysis. 

--Assist with budgeting and financial planning as needed; assist with preparation of the firm’s annual tax returns and estimated tax payments.

--Support audit schedule preparation and interaction with auditors.

--Responsible for additional job duties and special projects as needed. 

--CPA/CPA Candidate.

--Public accounting audit/assurance experience or comparable industry experience.

--Advanced experience with MS Office, especially Excel.

--Outstanding verbal communications skills, written communication and proofing skills. 

--Fast learner with the ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.

--Extremely organized and very detail-oriented.

--Self starter with the ability to work under a little or no supervision with a strong desire to excel.
