Job Description

NE area manufacturing client company is seeking a Sales Engineer to establish rapport and work extensively with prospective and actual customers in a highly technical advisory role to develop effective cooling solutions. Sales Engineer is responsible for development and accurate transfer of customer product requirements to GHT engineering specifications.

Sales Engineer has responsibility for definition of manufactured thermal products. Position requires sound knowledge of thermal engineering, engineering drawing, CAD, and drawing reading. Sales Engineer plans, organizes, and executes formal technical presentations of developed thermal solutions. Sales Engineer shall maintain knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, codes, and trends.

Typical Duties

Typical duties will include but not be limited to the initial development, preparation, and/or modification of the following:

  • Thermal performance calculations
  • Product specifications
  • Concept sketches
  • Quotations
  • Sales orders

Essential Functions

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Develop an assigned customer base
  • Serve as primary corporate contact for and interaction with customer
  • Develop spontaneous CAD-based product sales drawings and thermal solutions with customers
  • Recommend improvements to products, manufacturing, and/or test methods
  • Collect, interpret, and use reference documents and drawings prepared by other disciplines, vendors, or outside sources
  • Collect design and engineering data from customers, colleagues, and competitors
  • Frequent travel to customer sites to maintain customer contact and organize and assist in field troubleshooting and product performance evaluations


  • Five years relevant engineering sales experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience desirable
  • Familiarity with pressure vessel design and heat transfer theory
  • Experience in a manufacturing/assembly environment
  • Experience with CAD solid modeling and layout
  • Positive disposition and self-motivated
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
