Job Description

International manufacturing client is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to execute their sales plan to achieve company, sales and account objectives.  Manage the assigned customer base, provide application guidance and technical assistance to customers.


  • Responsible for the overall strategic management of assigned customers.
  • Work with management to achieve agreed upon sales volumes and strategic account objectives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key customer contacts to enhance long-term business prospects.
  • Prospect and close new target customers.
  • Identify and capitalize on areas of opportunity (i.e., customer relationships, technical support, logistics, etc.); ensure all customer inquiries, orders, invoices and complaints are dealt with quickly and effectively. Resolve any potential customer conflicts.
  • Canvas the market to gain insight regarding ever changing pricing and delivery requirements. Communicate findings to management.
  • Liaison between management and customers during contract negotiations.
  • Liaison between Sales Coordinator and customers for logistics – scheduling, shipping; communicate discrepancies and resolve.
  • Provide timely and substantive daily sales reports, expenses, business conditions, and other reports on competitive issues and potential customer issues / incidents.
  • Competitive research and analysis to increase knowledge of marketplace.
  • Attend trade shows and participate in applicable organizations to promote products and industry.
  • Manage travel, entertainment, and expense budgets.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Engineering, or Chemistry from an accredited university
  • 5+ Years sales / marketing experience
  • Practical experience and understanding of chemical manufacturing; specialty compound experience is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong presentation aptitude
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability
  • Contract negotiation
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic and changing work environment
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Experience and comfortable in conflict resolution
  • Proven ability to prioritize, hit multiple, and competing deadlines
  • Must be a self-starter, self-motivated, and results oriented.
  • Strategic planning ability and strong organizational skills
  • Good systems aptitude with proficiency in MS Office, solid PC/keyboarding skills, and ability to learn and use an ERP system
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
