POSITION OVERVIEW:

Our client, a growing, publicly traded energy company in Houston, seeks a results oriented Recruiting supervisor with a passion for delivering results.  In this position, you will partner with the business, recruitment and HR team to identify needs and develop creative solutions to fill the talent pipeline gap.  You will also provide solutions to enhance and improve business process.  The successful candidate will develop relationships with schools, organizations and other talent pools to market the company and increase their candidate base.  You will ensure that the company is set up to ensure a positive business and candidate experience.  

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Ability to assess, recommend and implement new processes and procedures
  • Participate in system design and upgrades
  • Assist with workforce planning efforts
  • Ability to proactively network and establish effective working relationships, continually seek new sourcing options, and develop creative approaches to delivering candidates to the business
  • Develop and provide reports regarding the status of recruitment activity including hiring, sources, etc. 
  • Identify and source candidates for open positions from targeted resources such as trade schools, on-line sourcing, industry organizations, networking, etc.
  • Establish, grow and maintain relationships with technical schools, military sources, industry and professional organizations, etc. to build staffing resources
  • Establish and build strong business relationships with the hiring managers in order to successfully understand their business, build sourcing solutions and provide excellent customer service
  • Travel to attend recruiting events such as targeted job fairs, technical school recruiting,  targeted industry recruiting events and support for interviews
  • Conduct daily and timely screening of resumes and assist the Hiring Managers with any prescreening / recruiting needs throughout the staffing process
  • Provide clear, actionable updates to HR team and management in order to achieve recruiting results
  • Work with the Hiring Manager, HR Generalists, HR Coordinator and Recruiting Coordinator to assist with the on-boarding process once the candidate has been identified
  • Be self-sufficient and able to work with little direct supervision in an extremely fast-paced environment
  • Create, measure, and scale the right workflow between candidates, hiring managers, and the recruiting team
  • The HR Recruiter is responsible for providing proper compliance guidance (with assistance from HR Management or counsel as needed) throughout hiring process

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS):

  • Education & License
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and/or experience

  • Minimum Experience Required: 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 6 - 8  years  of work related experience
  • Experience leading a team
  • Experience with selecting and using multiple search options
  • University and Trade school recruiting
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with internal and external customers and management at various levels of an organization
  • Experience with multiple Applicant Tracking Systems

  • Skills/Competencies:
  • Proficient computer knowledge and experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access Power Point)
  • Willingness and ability to acquire knowledge and utilize new software or applications that support Human Resources activities
  • Ability to set team priorities and ensure delivery
  • Must possess a deadline oriented and hands-on approach to recruiting with demonstrated ability to achieve recruiting goals in a timely manner
  • Strong sense of urgency with excellent verbal/written communications
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong customer services skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with internal and external customers and management at various levels of an organization
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with management and sourcing resources
  • Ability to travel (to include overnight trips) as needed
  • Ability to work well within a team environment

  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
    • Previous experience recruiting field positions in oil and gas/energy industry
    • Experience using Taleo Enterprise
    • Experience with Workforce Planning
    • Experienced Behavioral Interview Trainer
