Job Description

An Oilfield Service Company in North Houston is seeking a temporary Purchasing Assistant to assist their purchasing department.  The Purchasing Assistant will provide support with purchasing materials, reporting, inventory management and scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain quotations and technical information.
  • Purchase goods & services in a timely & cost effective manner that meets customer expectations.
  • Liaise with goods & services providers to ensure service excellence and that procedures conform to company’s purchasing terms and conditions.
  • Make recommendations to Senior Purchasing Manager on addition (or removal) of vendors to approved vendor list.
  • Produce overdue order reports and expedite delivery.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years purchasing experience in industrial market.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel experience.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision making capabilities.
  • Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Superior interpersonal skills including courtesy, professionalism, and a cooperative attitude.
