SUMMARY:

Growing Galleria area Houston giant seeks Big 4 candidate for Financial reporting role to $75K + Bonus

DESCRIPTION:

Our client is a well known, well respected giant in Houston, headquartered in the Galleria area.  They have a role open due to promotion.  This role combines Financial reporting with SEC reporting and offers significant exposure to management.  This is a dream role for someone ready to transition out of public accounting.

This role will perform Financial & SEC Reporting and assists in the monthly close process for the company, and the preparation documents required to be filed with the SEC. 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the books and records for entities which includes preparing monthly and quarterly journal entries
  • Prepare intercompany reconciliations and process working capital billbacks
  • Performs cash management functions including, daily investment sweeps, selling commissions, dealer manager fees, trail fees, intercompany settlements, redemptions, vendor wire payments and check run funding.
  • Review bank reconciliations prepared by administrative assistant
  • Prepare/Update standard monthly and quarterly closing schedules
  • Work closely with management team to prepare initial drafts of a variety of SEC filings including Forms 8-K, 10-Q, 10-K, prospectus supplements, etc
  • Utilize various software packages to perform financial reporting responsibilities as well as edit and file documents with the SEC
  • Prepare supporting schedules for certain disclosures in the SEC filings and participate in preparing footnote disclosures
  • Coordinate with other departments to obtain information required to be disclosed in filings
  • Interact with external auditors, legal counsel and management personnel in the preparation of books and records
  • Provide support for special projects, including projects for management and due diligence providers, as necessary

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited university
  • CPA designation (or intention to work toward CPA designation) is preferred
  • Two years of public accounting experience 
  • Solid systems skills and excel skills are also a plus
