SUMMARY:

An established company with employees in multiple states, based in Houston, is seeking a Transformation Onboarding Engineer in Houston, TX.  The Customer Experience team is looking for Transition Engineers to join a new team that will be responsible for onboarding new customers. The Onboarding Engineer role will be responsible for the technical aspects of deploying new contracted services and solutions. As the Onboarding Engineer you will digest the Statement of Work and create the plan for implementation.  Using due diligence data from the customer, you will create a project plan and drive the technical execution to completion.  The final deliverable is ensuring a complete handoff to steady state delivery and a happy customer.  The Transition Engineer role will require developing effective working relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.  The ideal candidate for this position will have experience planning, designing and delivering new customer solutions.  

DESCRIPTION:

  • Digest deliverables from Statement of Work, (or Change Request) considering customer environment details and develop Transition project plans to ensure a successful transition from customer’s as is state to the designed solution
  • Execute the Transition project delivering on time, within cost, to the satisfaction of the customer
  • Set and continually manage customer, internal stakeholders and steady state delivery organization expectations
  • Ensure preparation of project completion documents (Drawings, Diagrams and Run Books) and ensure knowledge transfer occurs to enable a successful handoff to steady state delivery
  • Prepare customer documents to seamlessly execute the project plan and ensure Transition delivery sign off.
  • Build programs, processes and procedures that are successful and repeatable in delivering value to our new customers

REQUIRMENTS: 

  • Ability to use due diligence data and the Statement of Work and create a Transition Project Plan
  • Ability to manage identify, mitigate and manage problems as they occur
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks, and prioritize appropriately to meet deadlines
  • Hands on experience working with Microsoft Servers, implementing Cisco routers/switches/firewalls, and Cisco Collaboration Environments. Ideal candidate will have Microsoft and Cisco Certifications for networking and collaboration. Ideal candidate will have experience in cloud computing
  • Hands on experience implementing hosted, multi-tenant Exchange versions 2003 - 2016 and O365
  • Hands on experience implementing HelpDesk
  • Hands on experience with hosted and virtual server implementations, VEEAM Backup and Recovery, ESXI & vCenter 5.0 or higher, Horizon 6 or higher
  • Hands on experience leading transition and transformation projects
  • Soft skills for dealing with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently
  • Meticulously detail-oriented with the ability to manage customer expectations and align resources for quality and timely delivery

Education & Experience

  • 10+ years of in-depth experience implementing technology solutions that utilize the skills described above
  • Experience working directly with customers, engineers and account managers as well as non-technical end users
