Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Hyperion Functional Support Lead is responsible for the day-to-day application support and troubleshooting, including responding to end-user questions and trouble tickets for Hyperion and related applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
 

  • Working on process improvements, upgrades and patches, ensuring the systems meet end-user requirements including regression testing

  • Regular communication with business users to identify critical and high-value business needs that should be implemented in underlying business application software

  • Providing training to end users where necessary related to Hyperion products

  • Identification and documentation of business requirements at a level of detail that will support corresponding projects

  • Design and development of ad hoc reports and queries

  • Creation, documentation and execution of detailed test scripts and test plans

  • Providing functional expertise and direction to technical development teams

  • Working closely with the business during key processes, such as month-end close, year-end processing and financial reporting focusing mainly on FCM and ARCS

  • Developing new reporting and analytical tools to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the planning, reporting and close teams

  • Assisting in the preparation of regular and ad-hoc presentations

  • Working with the business partners to define and set up systems related to business codes and related configuration to support automation of financial statement elements

  • Testing of system code and configuration changes to validate design and implementation satisfies business requirements accurately and completely

  • Accurately estimating effort for tasks, working with business users and management to set priorities and working towards meeting those goals

  • Required to carry a cell phone and be available outside of normal work hours

  • Regular and reliable attendance is required

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS):
 

Education & License:  


  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business/Management, Finance/Accounting, Computer Science or related discipline/equivalent work experience

Experience:  

  • Minimum of 5 years of work related experience
  • Hyperion production support and testing experience strongly preferred

Skills/Competencies: 

  • Strong communication skills, written and oral, are required in order to interface with all affected teams, personnel, and vendors

  • An organized and detail-oriented self-starter with a strong work ethic

  • Ability to work independently given direction and resources

  • Ability to work in fast paced, deadline driven environment

  • Well-grounded, preferring to work in a collegial team environment

  • Ability to think critically, solve problems independently and exercise excellent judgment and common sense

  • Intermediate/advanced computer skills (Proficiency in MS Office Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

  • Able to multitask between production support, enhancements, testing and special projects

  • Functional experience with Hyperion, SQL and related products (preferred)

  • Able to work in close quarters while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing and standing

  • Solid accounting and business acumen with a strong understanding of financial business processes and financial statements
  • Understanding of audit and regulatory requirements and the ability to track and provide support. Ability to work with external and internal auditors to respond to data and analytic requests
