Job Description


The Data & Cloud Security Architect serves as the subject matter expert for Cloud Transformation and is expected to have a deep understanding of cloud architecture and data security.

The position is a senior contributor responsible for the overall security of our cloud-based solutions, including determining security requirements; planning, implementing, and testing the systems, as well as preparing security standards, policies, and procedures and ensuring they meet Global and industry-wide security practices. The scope includes all cloud platforms; Big Data platforms (i.e., Hadoop), Cloud Software as a Service (SaaS), Cloud Platform as a Service (PaaS), Cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS); and, four deployment models (Private cloud, Community cloud, Public cloud, Hybrid cloud) technologies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develops Cybersecurity architecture and engineering principles across all cloud initiatives.
  • Writes, reviews, and maintains documents, policies, and standards governing the cybersecurity considerations for cloud environments.
  • Writes, reviews and maintains documents, policies and standards governing the data access considerations for our Big Data environments.
  • Delivers end to end cloud Cybersecurity architecture and designs, and provides secure transition methodologies to cloud solutions.
  • Responsible for critical evaluation and deployment of cloud services and cloud access broker solutions.
  • Works closely with the Enterprise architects to ensure that platform specific solutions meet the needs of all functional, security requirements and architecture design.
  • Works with business analysts and business owners to understand the requirements in order to design solutions.
  • Able to deploy and troubleshoot systems hands-on.
  • Shares best practices and lessons learned and continuously updates the technical Cybersecurity architecture based on changing technologies in collaboration with other domain architects.
  • Recommends and participates in the design and implementation of standards, tools, and methodologies.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve the Cybersecurity of business applications in the cloud.
  • Recommends and participates in ‘Proof of Concept’ exercises required to investigate technical possibilities to meet Cybersecurity needs.
  • Stays informed about the latest cyber threats to the cloud environment including threats towards the organization. 
  • Develops strategies and plans to mitigate emerging cyber threats.
  • Prepares and delivers complex reports to any audience.
