COST ACCOUNTING ANALYST

Summary

Dynamic, international manufacturing company is adding a Cost Accounting Analyst to their team!  Compensation up to $75,000. 

Primary Roles and Responsibilities

The Cost Analyst is responsible for supporting the cost accounting function for a multi-site, international manufacturing network.  Reporting to the Cost and Inventory Controller, the position will support standard cost management, perform monthly variance calculations, maintain and test appropriate cost accounting controls and policies, maintain costing of the daily sales register and oversee inventory and cycle counts.  Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Perform cost accounting tasks and analyses across multiple international manufacturing sites.
  • Maintain a daily costed sales register.
  • Analyze and report monthly cost variances.
  • Analyze and report on production efficiencies across all sites.
  • Build activity-based budgeting models to help analyze and establish standard production costs with labor and material overhead rates.
  • Coordinate physical inventories and continuous cycle counts.
  • Calculate inventory valuations and reserves for slow-moving and obsolete items.
  • Test internal controls related to manufacturing cost and inventories.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • Minimum 2 – 5 years of cost accounting experience in an international manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a sound understanding of accounting principles.
  • Experience working with ERP and financial reporting systems.
  • Exposure to cost accounting principles, cost accounting systems, standard costs and cost variance analyses.
  • Experience performing physical inventory and cycle counts.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
