CORPORATE ACCOUNTING MANAGER

Overview

International manufacturing company is seeking a Corporate Accounting Manager to assist the Controller in financial reporting, general accounting, audit and controls, and financial analysis.  Compensation to $135,000 plus incentives.

Job Description

Manager would be responsible for oversight of all workstreams related to the accounting, financial reporting and internal control functions of one or more portfolio companies including oversight of local accounting team(s). Manager would support all workstreams related to the corporate level accounting, financial reporting and internal controls functions. In addition, Manager would be expected to:

  • Support the management of monthly, quarterly and year-end closing process and related deliverables.
  • Partner with the financial planning and analysis function to ensure accurate and high-quality financial reporting in compliance with IFRS, US GAAP, SEC, and applicable statutory, federal and other requirements.
  • Support the management of the relationship with the independent accountants and related quarterly and annual external audit processes.
  • Support the development and maintenance of financial accounting and reporting policies, ensuring consistent application across all portfolio companies.
  • Support the maintenance of systems and controls to ensure that all financial activity is in compliance with applicable internal control requirements and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Support the development, implementation and maintenance of the ERP systems generally and specifically for those processes that directly or indirectly impact applicable internal control requirements and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Support tax planning strategies to ensure timely and accurate tax return filings and to comply with applicable statutory, federal and other requirements.
  • Support the preparation of the annual operating plan and preparation of periodic reports and updates.
  • Monitor proposed and actual changes in industry and public company operations regulations that impact accounting policies and procedures and proactively propose internal changes to maximize/minimize the impact of such changes.
  • Support strategic and tactical initiatives and manage financial accounting and reporting activities.

Experience and Job Requirements

  • BBA in accounting or finance.
  • CPA.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in multinational corporate accounting teams in a public company reporting environment.
  • Big 4 accounting experience, preferred.
  • Proven financial management skills with an extensive knowledge of financial accounting and reporting.
  • Excellent business, commercial and risk judgement with ability to synthesize complex issues.
  • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Well-honed project management, organization and coordination skills.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with a candid yet constructive communication style.
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite products and proficiency with ERP systems.
  • Ability to travel, domestically and internationally.
