Job Description

Our West area client is seeking a Contract Cash Accountant for some overload in their treasury department. The Cash Accountant will perform a variety of routine and non-routine general accounting tasks.

FUNCTIONS

  • Daily clearing of cash transactions.
  • Settlement of commercial paper, money market and time deposit transactions using SAP Treasury module.
  • Prepare specialized reporting and analysis for cash, foreign currency and intercompany loan transactions.
  • Accounting for Corporate fixed assets.
  • Provides ongoing accounting support for Treasury staff.
  • Performs general accounting tasks, including:
    • Prepares complex journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.
    • Responsible for accurate and timely reporting of data into the financial reporting systems for multiple entities(Hyperion).
    • Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual supporting schedules.
    • Completes reconciliation and analysis of complex balance sheet accounts.
    • Responds to frequent requests for information from internal staff and external auditors.  Researches issues and resolves problems as required.
    • Complies with corporate financial standards and internal control requirements.
    • Creates and maintains process documentation including local work instructions and flowcharts.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
  • Three to five years of accounting experience required.  Previous experience accounting for Treasury operations preferred.
  • Ability to lead, coach and mentor less experienced staff.
  • Advanced proficiency in the following software applications: SAP, Hyperion, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of personnel.
  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to define deadlines and manage priorities of self, team and/or project.
  • Ability to work independently on assignments involving complex issues with limited supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-functional role.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver presentations and reports.
  • Work Environment: Office environment.
