SUMMARY: 

Growing, friendly downtown Houston energy company seeks strong AP Supervisor to $90K

DESCRIPTION:

Our client is a well established e&p company headquartered in Downtown Houston.  They have a very stable AP team, and need a new AP Supervisor to continue the excellent work of the group.  This company offers a friendly, down to earth environment and room to grow.  They are hard working - while at work - and enjoy a great work/life balance.  The supervisor role is a hands on role that will manage a team of 2 directly and will spend time working on AR and general accounting as well.  This role is a great mix of high level AP, AP management, reporting, bank administration and AR credit requests.

Specific duties include:

The Accounts Payable Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the AP Department and directing staff in processing of invoices and payments by performing the essential duties and responsibilities as listed below:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise staff within the department

• Oversee and direct staff in processing of invoices and payments, assist AP coders and AP analyst with research and questions, including but not limited to Ad Valorem Tax. 

• Assist with journal entries, journal entry uploads, AP posting errors and corrections.

• Responsible for approving all invoices and processing weekly check runs.

• Prepare AP detail reports for cash funding purposes.

• Work with vendors pertaining to payment disbursement.

• Responsible for ensuring vendors are being called back. 

• Establish and maintain company-wide vendor list retaining copies of each vendors W-9, run reports and assist with 1099 year end process.

• Responsible for ACH setup and implementation.

• Assist with assigned account reconciliations and re-class as necessary.

• Assist Manager with year-end audit reports.

REQUIREMENTS:

4 year accounting, finance or business degree required

8+ years of AP experience with 5+ years of supervisory experience desired

Ability to be promoted to Manager within 1-2 years desirable

Experience with a large ERP system desirable

Ability to work with all levels of professionals  and a professional demeanor required
