Job Description

Galleria area client is seeking temporary Accounting Specialist to assist their billing department. The qualified candidate will respond to basic client inquiries and other clerical tasks related to accounts receivable and accounts payable. Other functions include:

  • Calculate and post receipts to appropriate general ledger accounts and verify details of transactions, such as funds received and total balances
  • Prepare customer statements, bills and invoices and reconcile expenses to the general ledger
  • Prepare monthly receivable statements
  • Provide backup support to other groups in the accounting department
  • Compile and sort documents, prepare and post invoices and credit and debit memos
  • Perform collection calls and/or correspondence in a fast paced goal oriented a/r - collections team
  • Provide customer service regarding collection issues, process customer refunds, process and review account adjustments, resolve client discrepancies and short payments. 
  • Monitor and maintain assigned accounts - customer calls, account adjustments, small balance write offs, customer reconciliations and process credit memos
  • Handle Accounts Payable and provide support to the AP department
  • Perform other assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the A/R department
  • Communicate and follow up effectively with sales department regarding customer accounts on a timely basis
  • Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with sales team


  • Bachelors degree or 10+ years of relevant experience
  • 5 years accounts receivable/collections experience
  • MS Excel, MS Word
