Our large energy client is seeking a Manager, Enterprise Applications with experience with database management and SQL Server Administration to join their growing team!

The Manager, Enterprise Applications role is responsible for all technical design and architecture of ERP and its associated systems.


Relationship Building. Developing effective working relationships and collaboration across the organization.

Design and Development. Overseeing technical design and architecture, interface design and development, implementing effective performance, capacity and availability management and Disaster Recovery solutions for mission critical application systems and reviewing existing applications and making recommendations as appropriate.

SDLC Support. Managing all SDLC phases to design, develop and deliver business systems and solutions to the business.

Collaboration. Collaborating with other members of the IT technical team, JDE Business Analysts, JDE developers and operations team to ensure availability, reliability and proper change management of the enterprise applications to meet business needs.

CNC and iSeries Support. Managing all aspects of CNC and iSeries administration including JDE upgrades and Disaster Recovery implementation.

SQL Support. Overseeing SQL administration and database tuning and managing the on/offshore relationship as it relates to SQL servers.

Procedures, Processes and Process Improvement. Developing and implementing standards, procedures and processes for the applications and work very closely with the Infrastructure groups and identifying trends and root causes of problems and implement necessary remediation and process improvement.

And other duties as assigned.


Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business or other technical discipline required.

Professional designation i.e. CPA and/or MBA preferred.

Experience and understanding of business operations of Asset Management, Supply Chain Accounting, Treasury, FP&A, Payroll and HR is an asset

Ability to communicate with business leaders from their perspective and 1st understand the business impact and risk.

Lead functional and technical teams while adhering to best practices of ERP technologies (JDE Enterprise One and associated middleware and development tool set).

8+ years combined experience in the following areas required ERP, specifically JDE but will consider other ERP’s

An understanding of Database Management and application toolsets (ESU’s, ASU’s, Tools Upgrade, Release Install/Upgrades, 1099’s, WebSphere, JDE Integration etc.), iSeries (AS/400), DB2 and SQL Server administration.

Ability to design and implement DR/HA related to JDE and associated applications. (Exposure to iTera, MIMIX, DataMirror etc.)

Ability to travel up to 25% both domestically and internationally.

Certificates & Licenses:

Professional certifications where applicable is an asset i.e. CPA, Engineer, Software certifications..etc.

Other Skills, Attributes and Abilities:

This position requires comprehensive operations and back office management, technical, communication, and skills and abilities to oversee daily operations and ensure that service level agreements and performance requirements are met.

Initiative, critical thinking, problem solving and creativity is required

Must be able to work well in an ambiguous, continuously changing fast pace environment.

Must be open to giving and receiving direct criticism in an environment where people are encouraged to challenge the status quo.

This job includes frequent interaction with a wide range of personnel, which requires excellent communication, interpersonal skills and collaborative style management.

High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint).

Requires excellent program and project management skills (eg, estimating, work planning, project reporting and tracking, issue management).
