Job Description


Our global client is looking for an experienced Systems Analyst to operate as a key contributor for analysis, testing, training and implementation of Store applications. This individual will apply expertise in methodologies to develop requirements, procedures and guidelines for the creation and testing of Store applications prior to deployment.


• Lead discovery sessions and work closely with internal and external end users to capture, interpret, and document business vision into clear business requirements; compile the results into a format that represents both the end users and the internal IT team

• Prepare functional specifications for development activities including reports, interfaces, data movement, and enhancements

• Develops solution by preparing and evaluating alternative workflow solutions.

• Work closely with Technical Architect ensuring the solution fits within the architecture of the applications.

• Develop testing processes and approaches according to Company standards, ensuring integrity of testing strategies

• Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, easy to comprehend, and meets current documentation standards

• Assist with the rollout of new functional initiatives, as well as troubleshooting production issues

• Provide production support for functional teams, and operate as a system subject matter expert (SME)

• Responsible for logging defects, working with developers to troubleshoot defects, perform root cause analysis, retesting defects and bringing them to closure

• Additional duties as assigned


• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required

• 5+ years of experience working in a systems analyst role in retail industry around store systems like POS and Payment systems is required.

• Experience working in a multi-unit corporate retail environment is required

• Advanced SQL skills, including the ability to run queries and write updates required

• Basic knowledge of XML required

• Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel and Outlook

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work professionally with employees at all levels of internal and external organizations

• Creative thinker with the ability to rapidly understand business objectives and present solutions

• Demonstrated dedication to meeting and exceeding the requirements and expectations of internal and external customers

• Ability to distinguish between functional, technical, and system requirements

• Strong analytical skills coupled with a solid business foundation

• Consistently demonstrate high standards of professionalism, integrity, and work ethic

• Skilled at understanding business requirements and documenting them in a clear, concise, and easy to follow manner

• Ability to integrate the cross functional needs of the business, technology, and other areas within the organization into an effective business solution

• Must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy, and the desire and ability to develop and maintain fluency with business processes and applicable technologies

• Demonstrated strong public speaking, leadership, and strategic planning skills

• Strong team building skills including facilitating group sessions, reaching consensus, and developing solid relationships across internal and external organizations

• Ability to work well under pressure and maintain flexibility in a fast paced environment
