A fiscally strong oil company based in Houston, TX is seeking a Senior Business Analyst reporting directly to the Director of Applications. This primary purpose of this role is to serve as the IT partner providing Application expertise for Oracle EBS, P2 EU, P2 Land, Merrick, along with several reporting tools.


This senior-level BA role combines industry specific business knowledge and an understanding of the innerworkings and configuration options of both Oracle EBS (with a specific focus on AP, GL, AR) and P2 (with specific focus on P2 EU, P2 Land, and P2 Merrick) to extract value from this integrated business platform.

This position requires the ability to recognize opportunities in requirement gathering sessions and recommend solutions to enable the organizations to achieve its goals as well as troubleshoot existing business problems. This role will facilitate communication between business and technical resources as well as provide guidance to functional teams on best practices, uses, and enhancements of this integrated business platform.

Essential functions include:

  • Recommending business process improvements and resolving business issues for all functional domains (Finance, Accounting, Operations, Marketing, etc.) performing within this integrated business platform
  • Developing solutions to leverage Oracle applications (AR, AP, GL, etc..) and P2 applications (EU, Land, Merrick, etc.) functionality for departments using or relying on these core modules
  • Gathering requirements, creating design documents, and performing impact analysis for application changes
  • Planning, organizing, and reporting on the progress of tasks and projects
  • Working with existing systems to track and manage issues and enhancement opportunities
  • Creating test plans, cases, and scripts and performing support functional testing
  • Understanding and modifying the Application Configuration as required (includes Oracle EBS setup, flexfields, workflow builder, custom library, profile options, etc.)
  • Conducting user sessions for requirement and testing


  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of application experience with Oracle EBS Financial Modules (AR, AP, GL, , etc) and P2 suite of Applications
  • Working knowledge of software development and support methodologies and frameworks
  • Strong and effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-organizationally with and without direct authority
  • Experience in working within the framework of IT General Computer Controls (ITGCC’s) and Sarbanes Oxley (SOx) compliance as generally deployed and operationalized for publicly-traded enterprises

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge to write and run Oracle SQL Queries
  • Familiarity with CPM (Capital Process Management) and hands on experience with OneStream and financial consolidations.
