Job Description


The Lead Analyst reports to the Operations Business Support Manager and is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and administration of programs and initiatives that support company's operating and corporate assets.  This includes gathering operational and business information, validating and analyzing data, coordinating management reports, and developing tools to support business processes.  The Lead Analyst will collaborate with operational, technical, and business functions across the company, with final products being distributed to senior management.


The ideal candidate will have a general understanding of business operations within the energy industry and a working knowledge of budget management, financial analyses, planning, management reporting and process improvement.  A basic understanding of accounting concepts and financial modeling is required.

  • Conduct financial modeling and analyses of operating expenses to provide the organization with greater clarity of current and future costs, as well as optimization opportunities.

  • Support Business Planning Managers in the development of five-year business plans for each operating asset, ensuring coordination, data alignment and consistency.

  • Coordinate development of consolidated reporting for the Operations organization.

  • Optimize analytical and reporting efforts by developing and implementing processes and tools to automate report creation and improve data quality. 

  • Provide senior management with status reporting of key initiatives as required.

  • Provide support to business deliverables outside of the Operations organization such as Treasury, Commercial Operations, Accounting, Business Planning and Supply Chain as requested.

  • Function as liaison between Operations and Treasury, collating and providing operational information in support of financing and insurance requirements.

  • Support the development and management of the Operations Support budget.

  • Coordinate weekly and monthly reports for corporate Operations.

  • Coordinate the development and tracking of Operations Support annual goals.

  • Conduct ad hoc analyses for senior management as requested.


Education and Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline (Business, Finance, Accounting, or Engineering).  Must maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card in good standing status.

Experience: Ten years of experience in business or operations support roles, preferably within oil and gas, petrochemical, or other energy industries.  LNG experience is a plus.

  • Strong leadership and business administration abilities.

  • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills.  Well versed in business analytics. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to influence without direct authority.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, written and oral.  Must be able to understand complex issues and effectively communicate across all levels of the organization.

  • Highly flexibility and adaptable; able to respond quickly to shifting priorities. 

  • Must have the ability to proactively work with minimal supervision.

  • Solid commitment to safety and dedication to the Company’s core values.

  • Able to work with a culturally diverse group of business and technical teams.

  • Possess the personality and ability to relate to and establish a mutually respectful relationship with management, peers and various facility level workers.

  • Highly efficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint.  Advanced Excel skills are required.
