Job Description

North area commercial client is seeking to add a HR Benefits professional for their Human Resources team. The HR Benefits Specialist is an outgoing, experienced and effective professional who will manage the suite of benefits and perks. This role will work closely with the Executive Leadership to make recommendations on implementing new, and improving existing, benefits programs intended to attract and retain top talent. This role is responsible for the strategy and implementation of the full portfolio of employee-focused health and wellness offerings.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manages the daily administration of all health and wellness plans, reconciles issues, and proactively audits accuracy.
  • Primary point of contact for all employee questions, concerns and claims issues.
  • Owns the overall strategy and implementation of the award-winning employee health and wellness program.
  • Serve as primary resource for health administration and potential vendor replacement.
  • Works closely with the Payroll Team to ensure that employee benefits deductions are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensures consistency in plan administration and regulatory compliance, including preparation of Summary Plan Descriptions and Form 5500.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 5+years administering self-funded and welfare benefits plans
  • Knowledge of ERISA, FMLA, HIPAA, COBRA regulations
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Bilingual Spanish (read, write and speaking ability)
  • HRIS experience (Ulti-pro preferred)
