Position Title: Finance Manager

Location: Houston, Texas

Reports to: Head of Financial Planning & Analysis

Our client is a PE backed energy company that provides natural gas sales, storage, and supply, along with other energy-related solutions to thousands of commercial and industrial customers, utilities, and municipalities in dozens of states. The client is headquartered in Houston.

Accountabilities

Reporting to the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis, the Finance Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • Decision Support
    • Build and run financial models to support business investment decisions
    • Partner with Sales and Supply to manage process for new deal approvals
    • Prepare business cases for special or complex transactions
  • Project Management Office
    • Build and run financial models in support of business partners
    • Quantify financial impact of value creating opportunities
    • Manage delivery of special commercial initiatives  
  • Reporting and Analysis
    • Provide analysis for Monthly Business Review
    • Develop, track and report meaningful financial metrics to leadership team to support data driven business decisions
  • Strategic Planning
    • Work closely and directly with leadership and business partners to support company-wide strategic initiatives
    • Effectively perform ad-hoc financial analysis, and or business cases, as needed
    • Connect strategic plan to operating performance to identify opportunities to improve business performance

Qualifications

  • Expert knowledge of Corporate Finance and its application to wholesale and retail energy markets
  • Strong understanding of the relationship between Accounting and Finance
  • Experience designing and implementing financial models and turning models into actionable insight
  • Ability to lead a team and influence broader organization
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or similar concentration
  • MBA, CFA or equivalent, preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong Excel and Powerpoint skills required
  • Experience with Endur, MS Dynamics, and Tableau, preferred
