Job Description

A Houston based organization is seeking a Director of IT to join their executive team. Responsible for all matters pertaining to company management of Information Systems.  Includes project management / leadership, developing and administering mainframe and system operation, the PC/LAN/WAN networks, user training, change management, budget cost and overall business analysis (requirements/design). Will be responsible for strategy, support, and overall direction of the IT department. 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Manages Information Systems staff and project leadership. (team of 7-12 IT). Team is made up of Systems / Network support, Desktop / Application Support, Application Development, ERP Support
  • Responsible for uptime of all systems to perform at 100%.
  • Responsible for Managing Implementation, Integration, and support of ERP. 
  • Provides consulting and project management skills for research and planning in support of the company’s IS plan, at corporate and branch operations. 
  • Responsible for direction and strategy of IT Department
  • Oversees local area network and company wide area network system with integration of new technologies and applications for improved work environments.
  • Oversees IS support system including hardware, software and operations standards.
  • Oversees company wide telephone systems assisting in planning implementation and operation
  • Manages department budget
  • Business Analyst

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Backup month-end processing
  • Manage software maintenance and applications programming
  • Manage ERP Administration - Need to be hands on and manage team


  • Education - BS degree (Computer Science is preferred)
  • 8+ years experience in a leadership role
  • Hands on skills with ERP Implementation and Integration
  • Managed LAN/WAN, Voice systems
  • Manage 3rd party support and application development
  • Project Management - PMP Certification preferred
