Job Description

SUMMARY:  A large Houston Healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst with specific Data Model expertise with Oracle Healthcare to join their team for a 9 month project with a strong option to be extended.

RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is responsible for leading and participating in the gathering and documenting functional, technical, integration and data requirements in order to design, develop, test, implement and support enterprise data integration, data warehousing and reporting. This position will also be responsible for leading and mentoring other junior business analysts as well as working on process improvement for functional and technical analysis. 

Someone with great Business Systems Analyst experience (requirements gathering, writing specs, testing) with really good SQL skills Oracle Healthcare Data Model is not important. Someone who has worked on software development projects, preferably using the Agile methodology, would be preferred. As would someone with experience in the healthcare industry and with Epic Clarity data models. This Sr BSA position requires extensive user interactions plus requirements elicitation & analysis.  


- Outgoing, personable, approachable

- Extensive healthcare experience (on the floor)

- EPIC experience (coder/analyst) Comfortable with a consensus/team culture

- Desired shift/schedule: 8-5 or 7-4 Onsite requirements: Required to be on-site Open to traveling contractors? Yes, but not preferred

- Big Data experience preferred but not required  

Preferred Experience: 
- Experience in the Oracle Healthcare Data Model 
- Three years of experience at M. D. Anderson or three years of equivalent scope and role in other healthcare institution or industry. 
- Experience in data warehousing and business intelligence 
- Experience working in and a well-rounded knowledge of the M.D. Anderson IT environment. 
- Experience in health care environment (hospitals, or drugs not insurance companies)

Preferred Certification: CBAP
